The Assessa+ application is a comprehensive tool designed to facilitate observational data collection for users across various institutions including universities, schools, organizations, and businesses. It allows for the creation and utilization of customizable forms through our web-based Assessa platform, enabling systematic data gathering on diverse subjects.

This system is suitable for a wide range of observational activities, including peer reviews, classroom evaluations of educators or students, environmental audits, and assessments of employees or services within settings such as hospitality or retail environments.

The enhanced (+) version incorporates additional features such as timer and tally question types, along with expanded options for form sharing and reporting, thereby increasing flexibility and efficiency in data collection and analysis.

Quick Start

Users with iPhone or iPad devices can quickly begin collecting data by installing the application from the iTunes Store. Upon launch, the Settings page appears where you should enter your initials and email address in the ‘Observer’ fields. Setting the ‘Email Report’ option to ‘ON’ ensures that observation reports are sent to your email for printing and storage purposes. After completing these entries, tap ‘NEW’ to select a pre-designed observation form, which will then load onto your device.

Once on the ‘Subjects’ page, you can commence observations by adding subjects or individuals to observe. To add a new subject, tap the '+' button, enter the first and last name, and confirm by clicking ‘Add’. Select a subject to begin your observations by answering relevant questions. Completed observations can be submitted by returning to the ‘Subjects’ page and selecting ‘Send’, prompting the system to compile and email a report.

System Customization

For organizations seeking tailored forms and comprehensive reporting capabilities, the web-based FacultyTools platform provides extensive customization options. Users can design their own observation forms, manage subject lists, and generate consolidated reports. The basic version of this system is available free of charge for single users.

When creating custom forms, each is assigned a unique ‘Instrument ID’. To utilize these tailored forms on Apple devices, users must enter this ID within the app’s Settings menu to load the appropriate configuration.

During observations, subjects can be added manually or selected if previously entered. Once an observer is ready, they answer questions on the loaded form and submit their observations back to the system. If an email address is provided in Settings, the system will automatically generate and send a detailed report. Additionally, with an account on our FacultyTools server platform, users can access reports online, print consolidated data sets, and export information for further analysis.
